adding sounds to slide show

I’ve created a slide show in power point. It’s a series of pictures and when
I want it to play it works fine. Now I want to add sounds, mostly music.
I’ve copied the music I want but then I’ve hit -the problem. I’ve been able
to insert the music into the program so it will start with the first slide.
But the slide show will now not transition to the next slide.
I’ve tried many things but I can’t find the problem.
Can anybody help?

Thanks for the reply but I don't see how this will help me. My problem is
the reverse. My music will play but the slide show gets stuck. Not the
reverse.
