starting slide show automatically

I am trying to send a powerpoint presentation as an attachment in an email
but I want the slide show to start automatically when the attachment is open.
I followed the office online instruction and went under save us, and then
save as type list but I don’t have the option of saving my slide show as a
pps file. I don’t know what to do. Please help. I’ve tried everything.

If the option to save as a powerpoint show is not there.... then you can
simply rename your file instead

find your file on your disk drive

right click the filemail, choose "rename"

change it from currentname.PPT to samename.PPS

the T changing to an S makes it a 'Show' that will auto run if the end user
has powerpoint (or the viewer) installed.

Two points for you:

1. Are you sure "save as powerpoint show.pps" isnt there, you need to scroll
down in the menu as it not visible at first (shame on you msoft!)
2. To follow TAJ's method you need to untick the "hide extentions for know
file types" in Windows Explorer> Tools>Folder options > view

Did that answer the question / help?
