Sleep feature in Vista not working.

Problem: My sleep button on the PC isnt working on Vista (or XP).
Whenever I do press it, Vista says its going to sleep. Usually on my
other PC, when I do this , the power LED blinks and I can resume it by
pressing the power button. On this PC, I cannot as the light doesnt
blink, and when I press the power button the PC starts all over from
the Boot screen. My BIOS does have the s1&s3 enabled. Do you guys need
the my Vista power settings? And which information do you want? Anyhow
I would really like this feature work out thanks!
Here are my specs:
Asus M2A-VM (Suspend Type: s1&s3) enabled
AMD x2 5200
1 Gig of Ram
650 W Antec Neopower
160 HDD
(wireless keyboard and mouse) I don't know if the wake feature will
work with a wireless set, but pressing the power button should wake up
the PC.
Settings for Vista are , when I press the Sleep Button, It goes to
sleep. If I need more info here please tell me which ones.

This is a Windows XP newsgroup. Sleep is a feature in Vista not Windows
XP. You need a Vista newsgroup.

Hope this helps.

Not everyone can see the Vista newsgroups. I certainly can't.

Most likely because you are not using the news server in the link I
provided.

Most likely. Not everyone can see every news server, and the Vista groups
seem to be fairly restricted in this respect.

Anyone may access the Microsoft news server if they wish. And this is
recommended if someone wishes to subscribe to a Vista newsgroup which is
not available on the primary news server a person uses.

I can't, so the statement "Anyone may access the Microsoft news server ..."
is, ergo, incorrect.

I'm sure you are able to access the MS news server if you wish to do so.
Why do you believe otherwise? All you need is an Internet connection and
a news reader configured properly. If you need assistance, I will be
happy to provide it.

Or is there something you're not telling me...

This PC is supplied and configured by the Computer Sciences Corporation
(CSC). CSC couldn't correctly configure a Gameboy.

Is CSC your employer, by any chance? Are they preventing you from
accessing the MS news server? Does your dentist have this much dificulty
removing your teeth?

Anyway, here's material for you or anyone else interested:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224421

CSC is not my employer. They merely provide the IT facilities around here.
All communication is restricted to going through a single server (there are
security reasons for this).
