Skype microphone

Ever since I updated skype I am having trouble with my microphone. My
microphone works fine until I make a call through skype and it dies. I have
done all that Skype told me to do and also have reinstalled Skype but the
problem remains and I have emailed Skype again but dont think they know what
is going on. On my other computer I do not have this problem. My audio
system on this computer is AC97 and all the items in it seem to be ok. The
test I did on my microphone is ok.
Any one with any ideas please.

I have cured the problem. It was to do with my AC97 audio configuration. In
S/PDIF-out I had "Output digital and anolog" ticked but changed it to
"output digital only" and that solved the problem.
