Size Problems while copying

Hello everyone.
I am facing some problems & seek your help.
I want to copy my Windows XP Professional CD(Purchased)
to my hard-disc. Well, definitely i can copy it easily
but the size of the folder where i copy it becomes more
than 770 mb.
When i open My Computer & check the properties of the CD-
ROM , it shows around 530 mb of space is used, then how
come the copied folder use 770 mb space. As far as i
know, CD's can hold around 700 mb of data , don't they?
You must be wondering why I am worried about space . The
reason is that i have to make a slipstream CD of Windows
XP integrated with Service Pack 1 . And for that i first
have to copy my XP CD to hard-disc, then integrate it
with SP-1 & finally burn it with Nero . And i cannot burn
it if the size is greater than 700 mb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Many Thanks .
Jack
