SIP & Messenger 5.0

O

Oleg

Hi Jonathan,

After upgrading Messenger 4.7 up to 5.0 the following issue appears
when my SIP UA calls to Messenger:
"Your invitation could not be sent because your program is not
configured to allow peer-to-peer calls while in high-security mode"

Could please tell me how it could be resolved?
Unfortunately I haven't found where might be configured.
I use only "SIP Communications Service Account"

Thank you in advance,
Oleg

In Windows Messenger 5.0, the default security mode only allows certain
messages to be sent to the SIP server rather than directly from peer to
peer.

This is to protect SIP clients from certain vulnerabilities.

To disable this feature, set the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Messenger\Client\{SOME_GUID_H
ERE}\_Default\EnableHighSecurityMode=0x00000000

Please note that by disabling this that you are disabling certain protection
features built in to the client.
