Single Click Icons

Is it possible to set up XP so that I can single click
icons to launch programs or open files? A friend set my
Windows ME to operate that way for me, the file names and
program names were always underlined and just one click
would open them right up.

Yes you can. In windows explorer: tools, folder options, general tab.
