Hello installation Guru's
After installing SP2 on a clean installation I made slipstreamed SP2 CD with
my original XP Pro gold disk. I would like to use this to help my son who
has had many problems installing SP2 but is going to give it another try.
Trouble is his own kids (my grandchildren) have used his system a lot and
it has suffered from adware, spyware and virus infections, all removed of
course but you are never sure that the removal is perfect!
I have recommended that he does not spend any more time trying to fix old
problems but does a clean install.
I was wondering if we use the Windows wizard for transferring settings to a
new computer (I.E. his) and I clean install with my slipstreamed disk, can
I use his legal Windows id or do I have to use my Windows key and then after
the installation, before activation, change the key to his legal key? \then
bring back his settings and activate the system?
All advice welcome!
