I've checked MSN and Wikipedia, and still cannot determine if MSN Silveright
is primarily for programmers, or actually speeds up my computer browsing and
applicatons. Can someone please advise me, since Silverlight seems to take up
considerable space and time? Many thanks.......Kim

It is in the category with Adobe Flash Player. Unless
you visit a web site that requires it...you do not need it.

HAve a look at the following article:

What is Silverlight, and do I need it?

It's Microsoft's version of Adobe Flash. You don't need it.

In general, no you don't; but there are a few sites that require it (a
trend that MS is doing everything it can to encourage). If you want to
visit one of those sites, then you'll need silverlight. I haven't yet
come across a site that I can't live without that requires
silverlight.
