When I start my WindowsXP computer I go to a blue screen that tells me to
click on my user name to start and then I'm taken to my desktop.
I would rather go directly to the desktop and avoid this blue screen. Can
anyone help with this. Thanks.

Go to Control Panel, User Accounts, Change Account. It's pretty
self-explanatory there.

hi,

Click Start/Run and type 'control userpasswords2' (no
quotes)
Uncheck 'User must enter a user name and password to use
this computer' option and click OK
Enter your user name and password to be used for logon
(if you do not have a password set, leave the password
boxes empty) and click OK
