welcome screen

Hi I noticed on another persons computer when it boots up there is no blue
welcome screen, after the black windows screen it goes straight to the
desktop. On my computer there is a blue welcome screen first then the
desktop. No password or any action required. How do I remove that screen?

Hi Karen,

Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.

I'd already tried that. I either get the option to enter a password or the
blue welcome screen. I want neither.
Thanks Karen
