Sign on screen continues to show unread e-mail when none exist?

I have no e-mail messages in my inbox but my sign on screen continues to show
1 unread e-mail. I checked all of my folders and everything has been marked
as read but it still won't go away. Any suggestions?

If you do a Tools || Find || Advanced Find || More Choices and select items
that are unread for that folder does it find it for you

I'm having the same issue. My inbox is completely empty and Outlook says I
have one unread message. When I do an advanced search for unread mail my
search comes up blank. I also have tried checking in the registry, but I
have no folder called UnreadMail to clean out. I'm using an exchange server
and when I check for new mail it never updates the unread mail count.
