shutting down the computer

Walt

I just recently upgraded my computer (Dell 4100) from Me
to XP Home. At first the computer wouild shut off with
the "Turn off Computer" command. Now Windows shuts down,
then the computer automatically reboots, unless I
manually depress the on/off switch. Then it shuts down.
Did I inadvertently make a wrong selection? If so, can I
reset it?
Thanks,

Hi,

See if this helps.. it worked when I had the same
problem.

1) Go into control panel and open "Power Options"
2) Click the "APM" tab on top, and place a check in
"Enable Advanced Power Management Support"
3) Shut down the computer.. It should now shut right off
like it used to.
