Computer freezes when shutting down

Virtually every time I select Shut Down on the computer, it fezzes on the
"Shutting Down" page. I then have to turn the power switch off. Any
suggestions?

I wish there was a 'magic bullet' I could offer you. Diagnosing shutdown
problems is usually a tedious process of elimination, because there are
so many possible causes.
