Shut Down of Computer will not Shut Down Computer

When I choose Start->Turn Off Computer->Turn Off, the computer hangs. The
only way to turn it off is to use the power button.

Furthermore, when the computer re-starts, Windows does not examine NTFS
because of an inappropriate shut down.

I have tried to use System Retore, but it did not make any difference.

What will make my computer shut down normally?

Hi there Camtower,

You may have a hardware issue that is causing the problem. Here are some
suggestions:

Update your system BIOS to the latest revision.
Update your system drivers to their latest revision.
Reseat your memory modules and connector cables for your hard drives and
optical devices.
Reseat your expansion cards (ie- sound card, video card, etc.)

Let us know how it goes!

Best Regards,

~Will
