Shutdown problem

can anybody out there help me out , i am having trouble shutting down

the problem happens when i have just finished on the net , i click to
disconnect and it still looks as if i am connected ,

then when i go to shut down the shutdown screen appears and then displays "
saving settings " at first i let it run through but was waiting for like
10mins so i just shut it down with the power-switch

any ideas what the problem is
