Shut down prompts

When I shut down I get 4 or 5 little windows asking whether I want to
exit this or that resident program. I've learned to leave them alone,
the programs shut down anyway. How can I stop the prompts?

Which programs are hanging at shut down? The message box asking to close
them will tell you what it is. To fix it you need to stop those programs
from hanging and shutting down incorrectly. Depending on what they are,
there could be a number of possible solutions.

They are really not hanging. It's not the "not responding" box, but one
that counts down several seconds before terminating the program. This is
the only installation that does that and it just started a few weeks
ago. Not a huge problem but a bit disconcerting.

Woof! Now I have to shut down to answer that one! Later, I'm working on
a project just now. There are several. Hang tight, I'll be back.
