Shrinking Disk Space

Everytime I boot my XPe system, the free disk space has shrunk by about 70MB.
If I turn off the System Restore feature, I get all my space back again.
But if I turn it on again, the shrinking behavior returns.
System Restore is supposed to take no more than 12% of drive space.
But this behavior has taken as much as 62% of the drive space (18GB of 29GB).
I've checked the registry settings for SystemRestore/DSMax and DiskPercent.
Any ideas?

Use something like SequoiaView to see what folder actually grows fast.
Then we can get some ideas. Without exact folder it's impossible to say
who and why eats space.

All of the normal folders remain the same size.
The hidden folder "System Volume Information" is growing.
This is the folder that System Restore uses for restore points.
Also, I mistyped the amount of space that is being lost each time.
It's 750MB, not 70MB.

Today I realized that 750MB is also the size of the pagefile.
I found that by disabling the pagefile, rebooting and enabling the pagefile
again, the problem goes away.
Then I must disable and enable the System Restore feature to regain the lost
drive space.
I hope to discover how to prevent this problem from occuring in the first
place.
Every Post FBA image I have made since upgrading to SP2 exhibits this
problem.

As a simple workaround, do you need System Restore as part of your XPe
runtime? If not, you can simply disable or remove the component from your
runtime. Take a look for the components "System Restore Core" and "System
Restore User Interface".

We'll investigate the runaway disk consumption behavior that you're seeing
with this component. Thank you for pointing it out.
