Shortcuts in "Send To" folder not appearing on Menu

When I add program shortcuts like notepad or Word to my "send to"
folder in my user settings folder, they do not appear in the "send to"
menu when I right click. I'm reasonably sure I'm working with the
correct folder because I can remove and/or modify the existing icons in
the folder and I see those changes. For example, I can rename "Desktop
(create shortcut)" to "Desktop (I wish this was notepad)" and that
change appears in the send to menu but the Notepad shortcut right next
to it, does not.

Any help would be appreciated. KTHXBYE!

Oh, the system is running XP Pro, SP2. Also, Sent to 3 1/2 floppy
appears on the menu but is not in the send to folder.

Hot damn, Ramesh! You're a genius!

Thanks!

What did that command do? Reinstall the shell or somthing?

Most welcome dapete. This command repairs / restores some of the missing
registry keys. As a result of running this command, the "drophandler" key
(which was causing the problem) is also fixed.

Yes, sort of. :-)

Ramesh...could you point me to a write up on the usage of this command?
All I get when I search is syntax.
