Why would an icon on my desktop move from one position to another everyday
when I start up my computer? It's not always the same icon. There is a
place in the lower right corner where I usually have an icon for a program
that I use everyday and I noticed that it moves to the lower left corner
above my "Start" button in the mornings. I started putting something else in
that position to see if it was just the program but it does it to whatever is
sitting there. And there are other icons around this one, but they stay in
place. It's just moving them from this one position. Any help would be
outstanding. I have searched several places on the internet and keep getting
zero search results.

Is Auto Arrange unchecked when you right click on an open space on the
desktop and select Arrange Icons By option.

I checked that too. Auto Arrange is not checked. Only align on grid is.

Do you have a large number of Icons on your desktop?

Actually I am a stickler on keeping my desktop organized. After your last
reply, I restarted my computer again and watched it physically move the icon
on start from that position. I noticed that it was doing it when it loaded
my Office Toolbar, which I have docked on the same side of the screen. I
went in a unchecked the setting for Align on Grid. This time when I
restarted, it didn't move it. Keep your fingers crossed. I think that's all
it was. Thank you very much for your help!
