Hope someone can help

I've set up a network using a Netgear router. Managed to
establish ADSL internet connection through router for
both PC's fine.

But having problem sharinf files. Run 'Network Setup
Wizard' on both PCs. However, I can't seem to get file-
sharing working as I can't find the other PC.

I've run CMT IPCONFIG/ALL ... It says -

IP Routing Enabled : NO
WINS Proxy enabled : NO

Is this significant and how do I get it to work?!?!?!

Help!

Make sure file and printer sharing is turned on and that you have actually
shared something.

How do I turn it on ... in fear of sound stupid! There
are files to share.

Any other tips?

Morten,

Forget the wizard. It's simpler to do this manually.

Please provide complete ipconfig information for each computer here.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

Are you running both Client for Microsoft Networks, and File and Printer Sharing
for Microsoft Networks (Local Area Connection - Properties), on both computers?
Do you have shares setup on both computers (Windows Explorer - folder of choice
- right click - Sharing and Security)?

Are you running NetBIOS Over TCP/IP (Local Area Connection - Properties - TCP/IP
- Properties - Advanced - WINS) on both computers?

Make sure the browser service is running on both computers. Control Panel -
Administrative Tools - Services. Verify that the Computer Browser service is
started.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

To check go to start>network connections> right click your connection and
select properties. In the box that comes up look their.

Have you specifically shared any files or folders, by right click on the
folder and select sharing and checking the appropriate box.

Chuck ... thanks for your help. Checked all settings you
mentioned and it's working now. :)
