Sharepoint Desinger and Sharepoint 2003?

Can someone please tell me if I can use Sharepoint 2003 in connection with
Sharepoint Designer? I'm experiencing problems whem trying to display the
lists I have created in the Sharepoint Site. The error I get is "An
unspecified error eccoured..."
