Shared Printer Problems with Windows Firewall

Guest

Greetings,

Here's my setup and delima;

I have a Linksys Wireless Broadband Router with a PC and Laptop both
connected via Wireless. The PC has a printer shared on it. When I attempt
to print from the laptop to the shared PC printer with Windows Firewall
Enabled, I am unable to do so -- the status on my laptopn for the printer is
"Unable to Connect". I have verified the exception option of "File Printer
and Sharing" is enabled under the Windows Firewall Exception settings on the
PC with the shared printer. When I disable the Windows Firewall on the PC
with the shared printer, I can print fine. It's a pain to have to disable
the firewall on the PC every time I need to print something from my laptop.

Any ideas?

Verify that the scope of the File and Printer sharing exception is set for
all computers

Select Exceptions, File and Printer Sharing, Edit, Change Scope
