Hello,

I have been trying and searching for a few hours, and I
give up.

Is it possible that all different users of a computer
share some Favorites, let's say a folder, while keeping
the rest of thei own ones private? In other words, is it
possible to share only a folder of your Favorites with
the other users of your computer?

I found the way to move the complete folder, but not to
share some of them.

Please HELP !!!

Thanks in advance,

Miguel

Thanks for the tip, it is a good page, but I already
found it and tried that. It does not work in my case.
Maybe some other thing is wrong.

I have checked in the Registry, and all locations of the
favorite folders seem OK, including the AllUsers folder.
However, Explorer only shows the Favorites of your
profile, ignoring the AllUsers.

Have you tried yourself to put some Favorites in the
AllUsers Favorites folder? Can you see them?

Thanks again,

Miguel

I have the same symptoms, Miguel. I have combed as many newsgroups and help sites for XP as I could find, but I have not found answers to these two questions: 1) If you put a favorite in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Favorites, should all users see it in addition to the users' own favorites?; 2) What troubleshooting process do you follow if the All Users favorite(s) do not appear? So far, MVPs and MSFTs have offered advice on *changing* the location of the favorites folder and described how to have all users point to a common favorites folder on the local machine or a file server--both of which miss the mark.

I think you and I want the same thing: each user with his/her own folders, PLUS a stock set of folders available to all. Like you, all the favorites registry settings on my PC check out with what they're supposed to be--but adding favorites to the All Users\Favorites folder has no effect. Oddly enough, I can add an entry to All Users\Desktop and it instantly appears on the desktop. No such luck with favorites, though.
