Where IE 6 on Win98 Keeps Favorites folders

I originally posted this question on the Windows 98 general
discussion, but perhaps it is more appropriate here. . . .

On Windows 98 SE I copied a default account (before setting up
multiple users) settings when creating the first multi-user account.
I wanted to restore some Internet Explorer (IE) favorites. I had just
copied the Favorites folder.

However, under Windows\Profiles for this user, there is no
Favorites folder. When I moved one there, IE is not using this for
favorites (no changes).

Any idea where this folder might reside and how I might change
the one IE is using?

I am using IE 6.

Thanks, Alan

The folder could be pretty much anywhere. One way to find it is to go to
any page and add it to the user's favorites with a distinct name such as
Zzzyzx. Now search for that name and you'll find the folder. I suspect
that the folder name is stored in the registry, but I don't know anything
about the Win98 registry so I can't help with that part.
