Share Admin's files and folders with Guest XP SP2

Chris

I am an Administrator on my Windows XP SP2 machine.

I enabled the Guest account and in turn it has made my (the Admin)
files private (which is good, but may obviously be causing this
problem).
I have turned off Simple File Sharing.
I have added Guest and Everyone in both Sharing and Security with
enabled Read, List & Execute privileges (the defaults).
I have added a shortcut to my "My Music" folder in the Guest's "My
Music" folder.
Now, when I try to open that shortcut from there, it simply just seems
to refresh the Guest's "My Music" folder and does not let me in. (No
errors messages or sounds)

Can someone please give some feedback?

Thank you kindly in advance Y'all!

One thing that comes to mind is to make sure that you are using a user
account that has a password to access the share which by default is required
for XP Pro when simple file sharing is disabled. It may also help to check
the security log on the computer with the share to see if a logon failure is
recorded at the time access is denied which may be helpful in
troubleshooting.
