Shadow of desktop icons sharp

My sister got a new computer with Windows XP home pre-installed.

For some reason the shadow of her Desktop Icon Labels is "sharp" and
black. What I mean by "sharp" i that it isn't blury. On other Win XP
machines the shadow of the desktop icon labels is a gray blur around
the text. This makes it very hard to read the text, and generally looks
bad.

I don't mean there's a box around the text, I know how to handle that.
Only the letters have a shadow, but it looks bad. I'd like to get it to
look blury and gray...

I don't know if this is relevant, but it's Windows XP home, Hebrew
edition.

Thanks in advance,

Noam Nelke, Israel.

So... What is her resolution and color depth set at?

I'll only have access to her computer in a couple of weeks, but thanks
for the tip!!

I guess it's probably that. If it isn't -- I'll post back.

Again, thanks, Shenan!
