Desktop Icon Shadows on Titles

After some changes to my computer, I noticed that I now
have shadows around the titles of my desktop items. Our
IT group has tried to fix the problem, and after
searching this newsgroup, I found the following
instructions:

"Right-click on your desktop and select: Properties >
Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web (tab) and uncheck "Lock
Desktop Items", click OK and APPLY." (Mine was already
unchecked.)

Also, check this setting: Right-click MY COMPUTER and
select: Properties > Advanced > Performance settings >
Visual Effects, place a check next to "Use Drop Shadows
for Icon Labels on the Desktop", then click "apply". "
(Mine was already checked.)

However, I've done this, and the shadows are still there.
Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks for any help!

Tried it - no change...

If you unchecked it, applied it, and it still shows shadows, then you have
another issue. Try clicking the "Adjust for best performance" radio
button, applying it, and see if that works since that unchecks all the
visual effects.
