my windows xp doesn't want to show the explorer and show me black screen
when i start him
i wonder if i can do sfc /scannow from the recovery console or from dos
because i tried to do repair with the win xp disc that i pressed r for repair
and i tried fixboot and fixmbr and it doesnt fix it
i have install in another partition win xp and it work good ?

I would not use SFC

but a repair installation may get you going


just google for: XP repair install

Tried an actual repair install as opposed to Recovery Console boot?

After that you have to get your updates working...
