Setup reboots

Help!

I have never had this happen before.
I start the xp corp. setup from the cd. After it installs
the startup files and drivers, it gets to the screen, "
starting windows xp " then reboots back to the setup
screen again!
I have taken out most hardware, yet this still happens.
I even installed windows 98 on the 80GB WD new drive with
no problem. But even during a xp upgrade from within
windows 98, the same problem occurs once it get back to
that point of starting windows xp!
Any help and info would be greatly appreciated.

This problem - which I had too - seems to be happening to a lot of people. The solution seems to be to remove the jumper from the HD & only have one HD installed when running setup. Change jumper settings after setup completes.
