setting up home network

I've just purchased a Dell system with Windows XP. I want to set up home
networking to my old system HP with windows XP also. When going through the
Network setup wizard it states I will need to run the Windows XP CD-ROM on
both computers when finished. I do not own this disc and do not have a floppy
drive on my new system to create one. Is there a way to burn a CD or will I
need to run the Windows XP CD if both systems already have Windows XP?

Actually, what the Wizard does is give you the opportunity to copy
netsetup.exe to a usb drive or floppy. You don't need to run the XP CD.

Just run the Network Setup Wizard on both machines and reboot. You don't
need to copy anything. The only "gotcha" with the Wizard is that it
will enable the XP Service Pack 2 Firewall. If you are using a
third-party firewall, go into the Windows Firewall applet and disable
it. Then configure your third-party firewall to allow Local Area
Network traffic as trusted.

Share out desired resources. Please note that XP Home will not permit
you to share users' home directories (My Documents) or the Program
Files directory, but you can share folders inside those directories.
For best results, use the Shared Documents folder instead.
