Spoolsv.exe Error When Setting Up Home Network

Hello,
I have a Toshiba Laptop running Windows ME and a DELL running XP SP2
connected to DSL through a D-Link DI-604

Both computers have access to the web. At one point, I had setup a home
network and was using it with no problmes sharing files back and forth in my
home office. I then had to reformat my Toshiba hard drive and lost the
network connection...now I cannot get it to work because each time I try to
set up the network through the XP network wizard, I get a Spooler Sub System
App error (spoolsv.exe & ntdll.dll)

I tried using the floppy it creates after I clear the error screen as well
as the XP CD on the Windows ME laptop to no avail...neither computer reads
the other and I am at a loss. I tried setting up the network by using TCP/IP
and that did not work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as there is no info I found on
spoolersubsystem app errors.

Thanks in advance
