server/client network using Windows 2000 Server and
Windows 2000 Professional as my client.

I'd pick up some basic books on domain administration, presuming you want to
use a domain. There's a lot to know about Active Directory, DNS, etc....or
perhaps engage a consultant to help do the setup & train you on basic
administration once this is done.
