Setting password after a certain time?

I use my screensaver password. However, I don't want to login every
time the screen saver comes on while I'm home. When I'm away for the
day at work, I'd like the password protection to kick in. Meaning,
after three or four hours, a password must be typed to get back in.

The scenario is the screen saver comes on after 7 minutes. After three
hours, I'd like password protection to turn on. Is there any 3rd party
prog that will do that?

I currently use ScreenPaver for my screensavers. I like that program
and don't want to replace it. I just want something to add the above
password protection feature.

Thanks,
Brett

Try this,

Set your screensaver to 7 minutes or whatever, and don't check the password
protect.

Change your Standby settings in the Power Options panel to 3 or 4 hours, and
on the advanced tab, check the "Prompt for password when computer resumes
from standby"

This way your screensaver won't prompt for password, but standby will.

Great idea! I've set my resume while plugged in to standby after 2
hours. However, nothing happens. I set it to 2 minutes and still
nothing. I can press my power button, get a prompt and select standby.
That works fine. Any ideas why it is going into standby on its own?

Running WinXP Pro.

Thanks,
Brett

Do you have any wireless devices (network card, mouse, keyboard, etc) or
bluetooth devices? These devices may be keeping XP from entering standby
mode.

I have a wireless network card but it has gone into standby before with
the card. I just recently started using standby again and now it
doesn't work.

Thanks,
