Screensaver password

M

Michael Fontenot

On WIN98, I am able to set a password to get out of the
screen saver. I use this to lock my computer when clients
are in the office so that they can not get into the
files. I simply drag a shortcut of the chosen screen
saver onto my tool bar, then the screen saver can be
activated in an instant.

On XP, the password protection only activates if the
computer is dormant. When the screen saver is activated
(under "preview" or by directly opening the screensaver),
the password protection does not activate.

Is there any way to activate the screensaver AND the
password protection system? Is there another way to
accomplish this?

Thanks, Michael

Set password in display-screensaver.
Then press:
WindowsKey+L (or l)

no drag/drop

W

Willit

create a shortcut with this as the target.

%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

then click on properties and add Ctrl + Alt + L if you
want a key to activate, otherwise just click on the
shortcut, locked.
