Set default view for all "Open Dialog" for programs

Hello,

Is there a way to set the default view for all "Open" dialogs? For example,
I'd like to set all the Open Dialog windows in all my programs to the
'details' view. Also, can you set the default size of the window?

I have managed to change the default view for my computer's open dialogs to
always sort the files in each new directory that I visit according to the
last modified date. The problem is that I don't know how I did it, and that
it's extremely annoying, so if anybody can shed some light on this question,
it would be very appreciated.
