How to make dialog box, open as details??

John

This makes me nuts :) Windows 2000 Pro, and WinXP (and I think all
others) when you use the "File Open" dialog, it defaults to the "list"
mode, and the files scroll left to right. Yuck... File listings
should scroll up and down.

I can change it in the window, to "Details" but the change doesn't
"stick" and I have to do it every time I open a file.....

There must be a registry hack, or a hidden setting somewhere, that
lets the user choose the default mode for such a dialog box, right??

Please??? :)

Thanks a lot,

John

Hi John,

There is no solution, registry hack, AFAIK.

Workaround:

File-Ex File Dialog Extensions:

<Q>
Turn that tiny File Open dialog...

....into a Power Tool!

Whooo hooo! :)

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions. They were just what I
wanted. I like the freebie, naturally <g> but I am gonna consider the
'pay' version as it seems to have a lot of features I really like.

Much obliged....

John
