I can't stop or start any services on my Windows 2000
server. I'm logging in as Administrator. If I try to
stop a service it just hangs. If I try to start a service
that isn't running I get the same result. The machine
reboots fine and all the services set to start
automatically start. I'm not getting any events in the
system or application logs indicating there is a problem.
The server is Windows 2000 SP3 running AD on 6 month old
Dell hardware. Anybody have any suggestions.

Justin,

Take a look at the following article...I've seen this issue if the Logical
Disk Admin service is set to a startup type of Automatic.
