Service pack GPO

I am currently using active directory to deploy service pack 4 on my
network. I did all the steps and it all works fine, except for one
thing. The deployment will happen only 1 machine at a time. So when
1 is running, another will not start to install it as well. Is this
by design? Or is there something I need to change?

Shouldn't be. What permissions did you give the machines
on the files? Read is plenty. Maybe the machine is opening them
with Exclusive-Write ?
