Service Control Error on Boot Up

On boot up, Windows 2000 Adv. Srvr. loads, then reboots and displays the following error: "Windows 2000 could not be started as configured. A previous working configuration was used instead." I'm having great difficulty finding the cause for this and it is preventing a lot of functionality in the domain
