Hi,

I'm gonna upgrade an ibm x440 with serveraid controller 4lx with OS
windows 2000 adv. ed. to an windows 2003 enterprise server and got some
problems:

i have done the following steps:

- boot with the windows 2003 cd and make an upgrade
- pressing f6 for the the serveraid driver.
- Phase: Preparing installation - setup copies the files to disk -> OK
- reboot: (normally the step which setup will install those files is
coming) Windows is always displaying the windows logo and the running
progress bar - there are no activities seen on disk.

My Questions:

- How can i remove this "failed" upgrade without restoring my disk.
Is there a possibility to boot my old windows 2000 adv. server?
- Are there problems with my serveraid adapter?
- Does anyone concerning the same problmes like me?

pls help.

thx in advance!

Upgrade should have add its own line to the boot.ini file with timeout 0.
Try to hit the arrow key during the boot to intervene.
You can boot into recovery console and fix the boot environment.
