IIS Services fail after latest Windows patches

We recently installed the latest Microsoft Windows patches on all our Windows
2000 Advanced and 2003 Enterprise servers.
One Windows 2000 Adv server has IIS 5 and Celcat installed. Unfortunately,
some of the services refuse to start: FTP, WWW, Task Scheduler, and come up
with this error: e.g.
Error: 7023
The Task Scheduler service terminated with the following error:
The parameter is incorrect.

FTP and WWW come up with the same error message as well.
I removed as many patches as I could and even reinstalled IIS with no luck.
There is nothing on MS KB about it. Nothing obvious in IIS settings or
registry can be found. So I'm stuck. Any ideas?

I have fixed the problem by deleting the following key from registry that was
affecting RPC and hence IIS:
HKLM\software\microsoft\rpc\internet

See KB327649.
