Server not configured for transactions

Anyone ever seen this error when trying to view shared
clients on their network? this is a new DC running 2000
server. everything seems to be working as planned, except
for the error above, and intermitten issues with keeping
shared printers available, I am sure they are related.

What is the exact error message?
What are you doing at the time when the error occurred?

Hey, Thanks for the reply.

When I open network connections and try to browse the
domain by double clicking on the domain icon I receive an
error message the reads:

PMFLRA is not accessible

The server is not configured for transactions.

and then all you can do is click ok. then it takes you
back to the Microsoft Windows Network folder looking at
the icon for the domain. this is a newly installed domain
running only the bare essentials, nothing tricked out or
anything, just active directory, wins, dns, etc. It is
the only DC on the network.

Hi,

Here are some suggestions:

Use "net share" command on the shared computer (DC) to check share status.
If
there is not a share named "IPC$" in the share list, use "net share ipc$"
command to create it.

Make sure WINS and DNS are running on the server.
