"Server not configured for transaction"

M

MAX

1. None of us can access the server from the workstations.
We keep getting "server not configured for transaction".
All workstations are W2k and the server in W2K server
also. The workstations can see each other in Network
Neighbourhood but not the server. The server can see the
workstations. However, we can ping the server and the
server can ping the workstations.

2. My attempts to join 2 workstations running W2k to the
server above alos W2k were unsuccessful. I keep
getting "error to join the domain. Server cannot be found."
Please help. Thank you

Hi

Maybe this will help.

Problem1:
========
when I try to access the server from the workstations. We keep getting:
"Server is not configured for transation"

Resolution:
=========
Try removing and reinstalling File and Printer Sharing from the internal
LAN interface.

Problem2:
========
My attempts to join 2 workstations running W2k to the server above alos W2k
were unsuccessful. I keep getting "error to join the domain. Server cannot
be found."

Resolution:
==========
enable NetBios over TCP/IP.
Run:
ipconfig /flushdns.
ipconfig /registerdns
net stop netlogon
net start netlogon.
Now try to join workstations.
