I am trying to set permissions for a subweb created in FP 2003. The Server command under tools is unavailable so I cannot get to permissions. I tried changing the authoring settings to see if the command would become available but no luck. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong
Thanks
Phil

Are you logged on to your live site/server??

No I am not logged into the server yet. The site has not gone live because I am still in the design and test phase. Does the site have to be live or can I work around this. I need to see the administrative end of it before it goes online
Thanks
Phil

You have to set the permissions on the live server, even if you work working on a server locally,
the permissions would not be published. Also it good to see if you can do this on the live site, as
you host may not allow you the ability to create subwebs or set unique permissions, etc. and the
option available may be effected by the OS of the hosting server.

If I am understanding you correctly, once I publish the site, I use the remote site to set permissions. That being said, I am thinking that I need to contact Yahoo to find out if they allow subwebs. Is that correct?. Can I publish the site locally to test this out
Phil

Yes, you need to contact Yahoo, as they are most likely running Unix/Linux and you will have
different options available, that would not be same as you working on Windows based web server
running IIS.
