Server error trying to edit site on second machine

Steve

I have copied a disk-based website created in FP
2003/WinXP Home and am trying to edit that site in FP 2003
on another machine with Win2000 Pro. (I did not use FP to
copy it, I just copied My Web Sites to a CD. When I try to
open the site, I get a server error: "The server
extensions were unable to access the
file "..._vti_pvt\service.lck". Please check the file
permissions." I'd like to be able to edit this site on
both machines (and either sync or otherwise update the
other machine whenever I switch). Thanks.

When copying to a CD windows marks all files as Read only. You need to open the copied site in
windows explorer and remove the read only attribute from *all* of the files in the web.
