Server 2003 RIS error

I have installed RIS on a Server 2003 SP1 machine, a domain controller.
After going through the procedure of adding a couple of installation images,
I went to manage the images (computer properties -> Remote Install ->
Advanced Settings), but when I attempt to use either the 'Images' or 'Tools'
tab, I receive a rather distressing error, which - if search engines are to
be believed - no one has ever received before. This is what it says:
"Server Failure
Unable to contact the remote install server. The server may not be
accessible at this time. The directory service has been updated with the new
settings."

Note that there shouldn't even be any network communication in this
instance. I'm trying to configure the RIS images -from the RIS server-.
What precisely is going on here, and how can I fix it? As I mentioned, I've
found nothing useful through the Big Name Search Engines, nothing on the
Microsoft technet or knowledge base... I'm relying on the community here to
(I hope) have an idea of waht might be the trouble.

Other miscellaneous information about this server:
It is the AD domain controller, running DNS, DHCP. It has a separate hdd
for the images, and the images (if the file system structure is to be
believed) have been installed correctly.
When attempting to manage the RIS images, I have tried both as the
Administrator account and as my (Administrators, Domain Admins) personal
account.

Any help would be -very- appreciated. Please respond via newsgroups, and
not via email.

Hi,
Litle advice.
Create a bat file with 3 lines

net stop "Remote Installation"
net start "Remote Installation"
pause

When you change same settings on RIS server, fore example *.sif spelling,
you must start these bat file.
He stop RIS servise and start it agane.
