serious problem on IE 6 on Win XP

I am working on IE 6.0 with latest patch for IE i.e SP2. I am using Windows
XP SP1. When eber I go to certain web sites the links doesnt work. for
example I am using Yahoo mail and none of the yahoo link work for me like
compose, inbox, outbox and all my customized links. is this IE problem or
yahoo problem on IE.

Pls help.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

If you did not create the file, then you may have parasites, or you are
using a web accelerator program that would be causing this problem.

Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

Do you mean using HOSTS is good or bad?

I have downloaded the hosts file mentioned on the link below and replaced my
earlier but still the problem.
