separating pictures in powerpoint

I have cut and pasted pictures from the internet and they
have stuck together and move like one object. How can I
separate them? Ungroup is not available for me to click
on.

Three quick points:

1) it's better to save captures to hard drive and insert them into
PowerPoint, rather than cut and paste.

2) Always get the author's permission before doing either of the above.

3) The pictures may have been merged before their being sent to the
web-page. They may be one picture file of two subjects.

Can you rephrase your question?

If you want to save existing pictures in a PowerPoint presentation, just
right-click and choose Save Picture As... in PowerPoint 2002 and 2003.

Use the sniping tool to copy the image on top of your pictures. Paste it on another slide. The pictures on your original slide should then become unstuck. I have no idea why this works, but it does.
