Sent folder max?

Does anyone know where I can find a white paper or other formal documentation
regarding "the more emails you save ina folder, the slower that folder will
behave"? We have a partner who has over 70K emails in his sent folder, and
complains that it takes 10 seconds to view!! But he keeps his inbox
practically empty by moving items to our DMS. I need "proof" to show him why
he also needs to move the sent items out. A link or something? Thanks much!
(I know this seems silly...)

Haha, just common sense doesn't work on him? Demo it with an empty
pst-file/mailbox; should be convincing enough. Limits and performance
expectancy depend on the hardware configuration, version of Outlook, type of
account and other things that are installed on the system and currently
running.

Believe it or not, no. He's an attorney and wants to see it in print.
My apologies: Novell 6 something, Win XP clients, SP2 (i think), Outlook
03 - SP1. All hardware is P-4 or stronger.
But ANYTHING that mentions that too many items slow down functionality would
do - I think.

Thanks!

Start reading at the bottom of page 16

You can read ost as pst in this case.
